Weird OCD.

I have discovered over the years that I have a rare type of OCD. When I go to restaurants or order take out, everything that I get from the restaurant or establishment HAS to go to the trash IN THE BAG I got from the place. Everything down to the plastic knife or fork(spork), napkins…even the soda cup..it all has to go away together! It came in together, it goes out together!!! I look at them like friends, why would you want to separate the spoon, and the cup? Who knows how long they’ve known eachother?..now there going to be out in some disposal waste yard separated forever until they are recycled. Sad! I know, I have issues. But really…everything has to be in the same bag, down to the receipt and straw wrapper.

Vanessa Carlton @ Hotel Cafe 3/16/09

Last night I attended the hotel cafe to see vanessa carlton play an hour long set of favorites. i've always loved the hotel cafe and suprised that vanessa had never played their before...glad she made it...the show wasn't sold out, and there was quite a bit of room left in the small room. safe to say that because it being recession monday and such a last minute show....vanessa played 11 songs, 1 being an instrumental track entitled 'waltz' and 2 new songs, 'fairweathered friends' and 'london' which she said she wrote in london. fitting really! haha. ignored everything from her first record only playing songs from her 2 latest, hereos & theives and harmonium. it was great to hear 'half a week before the winter' once again, i believe it's been sometime since she has played that. i enjoyed the show over all....she messed up 3 times on her first vocal song 'hands on me'. but it's ok she pulled thru nicely. 'home' was a great way to end the show during your encore. thanks vanessa for another great show!

yes, i seem to be somewhat of a femenist when it comes to music...but it doesn't mean it's not good or one-sided, one-minded or anything like that. this is by far probably one of the best albums of the last couple years....it's proof of pure artist control and freedom....afterall she did get dropped by a & m and signed with murder inc. records :)

the life of a pumpkin....

I was just thinking about the life of a pumpkin. Grow up in the sun, happily entwined with others, and then someone comes along, cuts you open, and rips your guts out.

I really am not into Halloween this year, there doesn't seem to be as much 'horror' tv on as there used to be...although I haven't really dug deep for it...I have been buying some little gems here and there...I love indie horror more than anything..less rules, and they don't really have a manifesto to live by...which is always better! Leaves you guessing....I also have not seem many pumpkins in front of peoples homes as I used too....I remember I always enjoyed carving pumpkins when I was younger...it was the best! A sign of the times I guess...more and more people have less and less money to spend on a pumpkin......sad, but true. :) I hope tons of kids trick or treat and keep this holiday alive and kicking. Tonight we have some serious ghost hunting to do. :)
