yes, i seem to be somewhat of a femenist when it comes to music...but it doesn't mean it's not good or one-sided, one-minded or anything like that. this is by far probably one of the best albums of the last couple years....it's proof of pure artist control and freedom....afterall she did get dropped by a & m and signed with murder inc. records :)
I was just thinking about the life of a pumpkin. Grow up in the sun, happily entwined with others, and then someone comes along, cuts you open, and rips your guts out.
I really am not into Halloween this year, there doesn't seem to be as much 'horror' tv on as there used to be...although I haven't really dug deep for it...I have been buying some little gems here and there...I love indie horror more than anything..less rules, and they don't really have a manifesto to live by...which is always better! Leaves you guessing....I also have not seem many pumpkins in front of peoples homes as I used too....I remember I always enjoyed carving pumpkins when I was younger...it was the best! A sign of the times I guess...more and more people have less and less money to spend on a pumpkin......sad, but true. :) I hope tons of kids trick or treat and keep this holiday alive and kicking. Tonight we have some serious ghost hunting to do. :)
The Donnas explain why 15 years after their first practice (as the Electrocutes), they're still rocking together. Bonus: Allison of The Donnas teaches you bar chords!
Margaret Cho is by far one of my favorite stand up comedians....she mixes her smarts with gay culture and her genius with politics to make something beautiful. Speaking of beautiful, I recently saw her on her BEAUTIFUL TOUR in March here in LA and she was AMAZING. Bitch looked fierce.
Heres a clip of her doing a small set @ Drunk On Stage with Bruce Daniels:
I've had this blog for about two years and I have managed to post about two things....Christmas and my old obsession for Pete Wentz before I saw his wiener...I'm not a size queen, but damn. Anyway, I thought I'd share a little something something with you guys(the person that accidentally stumbles upon this blog) yes, you! :)
this song has changed my mind set and the way that i look at well, everything! the words are simple yet powerful...they deliver a clean & clear message that everything is meant to be, and you should be happy with the deck of cards life has dealt you. I will be seeing Vanessa on Sunday in Costa Mesa with Chris Isaak, I will update you with details on the show!
I'm cookie dough. I'm not done baking. I'm not finished becoming whoever the hell it is I'm going to turn out to be. I make it through this and the next thing and the next thing and maybe one day I turn around and realize I'm ready. I'm cookies. And then, you know, if I want someone to eat me or enjoy warm, delicious cookie-me, then that's fine. That'll be then. When I'm done.
